The information gathered for this site covers every aspect we could think of for vacationers and locals to have a one stop information source. Visitors will find what a great place Ocean City is to vacation and locals can find phone numbers and direct links to everything from restaurant menus to city hall.
We make every effort to keep oclocals.net updated. However, with the economy the way it is, sometimes the opening and closing of businesses is hard to follow. If you would like additional information or have more current information please contact us. A new self listing form is available for local businesses. Please complete this form to add your business to oclocals.net free of charge.
Ocean City is located within Worcester County, MD and is one of 3 incorporated Towns in the County. The other two are Berlin and Snow Hill. Pocomoke is the only incorporated City.

The hurricane of 1933 created the Ocean City Inlet and the Noreaster of 1962 destroyed most of the buildings on Assateague Island which allowed for the formation of the Assateague Island National Seashore Park.

Many visitors to Ocean City never get to enjoy the many other attractions in the county even though everything is within a 30 minute drive. Assateague Island has both a State and a National park and both offer tranquil beaches and of course the famous ponies. The National Park allows dogs on the beach as well as camp fires and has a 4-wheel drive area where you can drive right onto the beach. The Pocomoke River State Park is 15,000 acres directly on the Pocomoke River. Here you will find campsites, hiking trails, boat rentals, excellent fishing and of course swimming. Pets are also allowed. Berlin is 8 miles from Ocean City and has a museum, antique shops, dining, art galleries, and handcrafted stores all on a quiet Main Street. Snow Hill offers a museum, a one room school house, 5 art galleries featuring local and regional artists and the main attraction: Pocomoke River State Park is 3.5 miles south on RT 113. The City of Pocomoke is located on the Pocomoke River so fishing and boating are its main draw but there is also a bike path called "Viewtrail 100" that wanders through Worcester County and is heavily traveled. Last but not least is golfing, and I don't think you can drive 5 minutes on any major highway without seeing a golf course.
