Ocean City Beach Rules
Prohibited
•  Consuming alcoholic beverages
•  Allowing dogs on the beach (May 1 - Sept 30)
•  Sleeping on the beach between 10pm - 6am
•  Using a skim board between 10am - 5:30pm
•  Bringing glass containers on the beach

Regulated
•  Starting open fires on the beach
•  Playing loud music

Safety for Swimmers
•    Only swim where and when lifeguards are on duty (10am - 5:30pm)
•    Never dive into unknown water or shallow breaking waves
•    Do not swim near fishing piers, jetties or wooden pilings
•    Rely on your swimming ability rather than a flotation device
•    If you are unable to swim out of a strong current, call or wave for help
Keep your feet in the sand,
until the lifeguard’s in the stand!
 
Surfing Beaches
During the summer months surfing is not permitted between 10:00am and 5:30pm except in the designated surfing areas. There are 2 areas assigned daily.
Important Rules:
  • No swimming or wading in these areas
  • All surfers must wear leashes
  • Red stands establish the surfing beach limits
  • Signs and flags are to designate the area
  • Designated surfing areas rotate 2 blocks each day
